A Failure is not the End of the World

Everybody has failed in something, but the great ones get back up. There were times when I felt like I didn’t want to stand up when I failed in doing something, but I realized that when I refused to get back up, I would not be able to create a better future.

People drown in the water because they stay too long in the water, if you feel like you are underneath the water right now because you have failed a business venture, I believe that it is time for you to get back up on the surface and it is time to breath the fresh air the try again!

I realize when I fail at something, it is a challenge for me to learn a new skills, knowledge and wisdom and it is not the end of the world. When we fail at something we do, it is time for all of us to find the answer why we fail in the first place! It is not time to mourn or time to whine; it is time to get back up and to get our self up to speed!

When I was 7 years old, my grandfather bought me a bicycle and I was extremely excited until I realized that I didn’t know how to ride it. I told my grandfather that I didn’t know how to ride it, and he told me, “Jeffrie, the best way to learn how to ride it is to get on it and start riding it right now.”

So I did ride the bike and I fell flat on my face, I felt into a ditch, and I remember the days my parents had to take me to a doctor to get some stitches. Within a month, I learned to ride the bike; I could even ride it without putting my hands on the handle.

One of the most important lesson I have in life is when I saw my daughter learned how to walk, she fell over and over again, and one time she fell down and bumped her head on the chair, she stood back up and smiled at me and laughed! I was amazed on how persistent she was! I said to myself, if my daughter can do it, so can I!

I learned that when my daughter learned how to walk, she wasn't not afraid of falling, because falling is part of a learning process. You don't become good in doing something in a day or two, but you will go through the process of learning and growing! My mentor told me "Jeffrie, the fun of life is not in the destination, but the fun of life is found in the journey."

In the Spring time, my wife and I love to plant vegetables in our garden. So we can have fresh vegetables in the Summer time. I never see once in my life that when I sow a seed of a tomato that a tomato plant will appear within an hour. It takes a lot of works, the right amount of sunlight, fertilizer, and soil to grow tomatoes. After 2 to 3 months, we will see a tomato plant. My friend, you contain a seed of greatness within you! You may feel little at this point of your life, but you can grow bigger in the future when you decide today that you will start growing the seed of greatness that is planted deep within you!

So I encourage all of you today, right now, yes where you are at this point to get back up! Get up back my friend, stand up, be a good courage, smile, and believe that the failure you experienced is not the end of the world for you! Let the past remains in the past and focus your eyes to the future and to the things that you can do today for what you do today will determine what your future will be! Get back up, stand up, and try again, and never ever give up!
